Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an awesome vintage retractable hanging ceiling light fixture that was manufactured by IMPERIALITE. Circa '50s / '60s. The main shade is brass, and it is pierced to allow light to shine from the small holes. Beneath the main shade is a decorative glass insert which rests inside another smaller pierced brass shade at the very bottom. The fixture can be adjusted to different heights by pulling on the small bars at the very bottom edges of the lower brass shade. The on/off rotary knob is located on that bottom surface as well. The fixture takes a total of four (4) lightbulbs - three (3) are used to illuminate the larger brass shade, while one (1) is used to illuminate the smaller brass shade. The fixture still retains the original UL / Imperialite labels on the inside of the ceiling canopy (see photos). This'll make a statement in any mid century modern or atomic-themed setting.
Measurements: The fixture measures approx. 22" in diameter x 10" high. The brass cup that holds the retractable electrical cord measures approx. 6" tall x 3.5" wide x 3.5" deep.
Condition: The fixture is in good vintage condition. There are some light superficial scratch marks on the top surface of the main brass shade - nothing major, but we are mentioning them for accuracy - they aren't gauges, and can most likely be buffed out. Also, there are a few very small, very shallow dimple marks on that shade as well. Neither detracts or is particularly noticeable unless you are looking for them. The glass insert panel is in great shape - no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. All else aside, it could use a gentle cleaning and/or polishing. The fixture displays well and is in working condition. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the fixture prior to long-term use, just to be safe. Being sold "as-is" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing as all sales are final. Please bid with confidence.
