Sculptural Vintage 1970s Metal Brutalist Starburst Wall Hanging Modern Art William Bowie

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an incredible vintage sculptural dimensional brutalist starburst wall hanging. Unsigned, but attributed to the work of William Bowie. Circa '70s. Materials: Metal, Steel. It has two layers of outwardly projecting metal prongs that are all attached towards the center or the piece. There is a metal hanging tab attached at the back, as well as two metal spacers which keep it from resting against the wall. It'll look fantastic in any modern interior setting!

Measurements: Approx. 44" wide x 44" tall x 5" deep (variable depth with 5" being the maximum).

Condition: Good vintage condition with some cosmetic flaws which we'll mention here. First off, there are three rays missing - one from the top layer, and two from the bottom layer. At first, we didn't notice this at all. They are all distributed far enough away from each other that you really have to be looking for them to even notice that they are missing. When hanging on a wall, it isn't noticeable. There also appears to be a few spost where the rays was spot welded back into position (see photos). Again, one really has to be looking for this to even notice it. In our opinion, certainly not deal breakers, but being mentioned for accuracy. The back side of the metal spokes show a thin layer a rust colored patination which is not seen from the front at all (again, see photos). All-in-all, displays nicely and is ready for a new home.
