Vintage 1950s C. Miller Ceramic Lamp Atomic Era Mid Century MCM Modern Lighting As-Is

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage atomic era ceramic lamp manufactured by C. Miller in the 1950s. Colors: Green with Gold Accents. Materials: Ceramic / Pottery / Metal (Brass). The back side of the base is signed and dated (1955) where the electrical cord emerges (see photos). The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket. No shade present - it'll be left up to the purchaser to provide their own shade. The lamp is suitable for any interior setting.

MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands approx. 28.5" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the finial) x 6" wide x 6" deep. The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 21" high. The round brass base at the bottom of the lamp is approx. 6" in diameter.

CONDITION: The lamp is in okay condition as there are some cosmetic flaws which we'll mention here. First off, it appears something bumped into the lamp at one point during its long history as there is an impact crack on the exterior surface (see photos). It is located on one of the sides, and is more towards the back of the lamp. If positioned properly, it isn't overly noticeable, and it appears to be stable. Just above that on one of the gold accent fins there is a superficial scratch mark (again, see photos). The round brass metal base shows signs of tarnishing / discoloration, and there is some mild surface rust on the back side of it where the electrical cord exits the base (see photos). The electrical wiring is in good condition and looks to be original to the lamp - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. Despite the damage, it still displays okay, but if you are more of perfectionist, it can certainly be used for parts. Priced accordingly. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the wiring prior to long-term use.
