ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare and quite outrageous vintage floor lamp. Circa '60s. The lamp contains three (3) stacked spun red acrylic / spaghetti shades. They are each set at a different height, and they are contained within the brass framework of the lamp. The lamp also has four (4) nice wooden accents at the top which form a crown at the apex. The on/off switch is rather unique - it is contained on a brass stick with a wooden knob at the top. It allows for three-way functionality of the lamp - one turn lights up the bottom two shades, a second turn lights up just the top shade, and a third turn lights up all three at once! We are uncertain of the maker of this beauty - there are no labels or tags present. It's a definite show stopper that will garner a lot of attention and compliments wherever it ends up!
MEASUREMENTS: This floor lamp is large - it measures approx. 69" tall x 8.5" wide x 8.5" deep. The stacked shades are set at the following heights (each is a measurement from the bottom base to the top opening of the shade): bottom shade - 26.5" high, middle shade - 39" high, and uppermost shade - 52.5" high. Each of the three shades measures approx. 8" in diameter. The on/off switch is approx. 21" high from the base. The round base at the very bottom of the lamp is approx. 15" in diameter. Lastly, the four wooden accents pieces at the crown of the lamp are each approx. 13" long.
CONDITION: Overall the lamp is in great shape with no major issues to report. The shades are free from chips, cracks, breaks, burn / melted areas, repairs, etc. They are a little dusty, and could use a gentle cleaning, but otherwise, they're great. The wooden accent pieces at the top of the lamp are in nice shape as well - no chips, cracks, breaks, scratches, repairs, etc. The brass components of the lamp show very mild traces of tarnishing in spots, but nothing to get excited over. We have not attempted to clean or polish the lamp in any manner - we are presenting it for sale in the exact condition in which it was acquired.
The electrical wiring is in decent condition, and appears to be original to the lamp - there are no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the wiring prior to long-term use. This lamp is being sold "as-is", and "as-described" - if you have questions, we do encourage you to ask them before purchasing, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner. All sales are final. Please bid with confidence.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the extra large size of this lamp, it will have to ship in two separate parcels - one will contain the shades, while the other will contain the base. We will most likely partially disassemble the crown piece from what's beneath it as it is only held in place by a few screws - it will help to cut down on the cost of shipping.
