Vintage MCM Triple Fiberglass Shade Floor Lamp Mid Century Modern Atomic Era 50s

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a fantastic vintage atomic era floor lamp, complete with its original fiberglass shades. Circa '50s. The base is constructed of metal, and has an atomic flair to it. The shades are a beige colored fiberglass, and they have criss-cross designs covering the surface. This floor lamp has three-way functionality - one turn lights up two shades, a second turn lights up the third shade independent of the first two, and a third turn lights them all up at the same time. We are uncertain as to the maker of the lamp - there are no labels or tags present.

MEASUREMENTS: With the shades attached, the lamp measures approx. 60.5" tall x 19.5" wide x 22" deep. The shades are set at slightly staggered heights - the uppermost being 60.5" high (measured from the base to the top of the shade), the middle shade set at 56" high, and the lowest shade set at 54.5" high. The on/off switch is 33.5" above the base. Each of the three shades are 6.5" tall x 9" in diameter. The square brass base at ground level is approx. 9.5" x 9.5".

CONDITION: Overall this floor lamp is in very good condition for its age. The shades are in fantastic shape - they're free from having rips, holes, creases, tears, repairs, burn marks, etc. The lacing appears to be original, and it is intact on all three shades. The square base at the bottom of the lamp shows some tarnish spotting on the top surface, and the edges also show some signs of discoloration (see photos). There are no dents, dings, etc. to the base - just color wear. We have not attempted to clean or polish the lamp in any manner - it is being presented for sale in the condition in which it was acquired. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it is in good shape - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. As can be seen from the photos, the lamp is in fully-functioning, working condition. As is the case with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed profession inspect the wiring prior to long-term use, just to be safe.
