ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a RARE vintage lamp manufactured by DuBarry. Circa '50s. The base is constructed of plaster, and it takes on a biomorphic / flame-like appearance. Nestled within the plaster shape of the body is a clear crackle glass orb that rests atop of silver hourglass-shaped pedestal (see photos). The lamp is beige and black in color. The on/off rotary knob switch is embedded into the plaster base (see photos). It allows for three-way functionality. One twist lights up the main socket, and second twist lights up the small decorative bulb in the base, and a third and final twist lights them both up simultaneous. The lamp does not appear to be signed, but it is definitely a DuBarry lamp. No shade present - it'll be left up to the purchaser to provide their own.
MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands an impressive 35" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the finial). The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 27" high. The plaster portion of the base measures approx. 23" high x 11" wide. The amoeba-shaped base at the very bottom of the lamp measures approx. 10" wide x 7.5" deep.
CONDITION: The lamp appears to have one old, careful repair on the lower of the two extensions at the top of the lamp - we've included photos of both the top and bottom side of the repair for you to review). It was carefully done, and is barely noticeable, but there. Aside from that, the lamp could use a gentle cleaning - we have not attempted to clean it in any manner - it is being presented as it was acquired. The glass orb is free from chips, cracks, breaks, scratches, repairs, etc. The hourglass-shaped pedestal that the glass orb rests on seems have black color loss (see photos) - it can easily be touched up or left alone. It didn't bother us, so we just left it as-is. The electrical wiring looks original with no issues to report - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. The lamp is in fully functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always suggest having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use, just to be safe. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described" - if you have questions, please message us and we'll respond back to you.
