ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage atomic era table lamp designed by Walter Kron for Texans, Incorporated. Circa '50s. Colors: White, Gold. Materials: Ceramic. The lamp has an on/off toggle switch located at the socket. There are no labels or tags present. There is a number 1024 inscribed into the underside of the base (see photos). It will be left up to the purchaser to provide their own shade as there isn't one currently present.
MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands approx. 26.5" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the finial) x 7.25" wide x 5" deep. The socket is at a height of approx. 16.25". The ceramic lamp body measures approx. 14" tall x 7.25" wide x 5" deep.
CONDITION: The lamp is in good condition, but not perfect. There is a hairline crack in the glaze (see photos). It is completely stable, and doesn't appear to go through to the ceramic. It appears just below the uppermost gold ball on the right side (see photos). On the back side of the lamp, just below where the electrical cord exits the base, there is a very small chip (see photos). It has glaze over it, so we're going to assume this was a manufacturing flaw as it doesn't look (or feel) like a chip that resulted from damage to the base. Aside from these two mentions, the lamp is great - the colors are nice, there are no breaks, repairs, scratches, etc. The electrical wiring is in good shape with no issues to report. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described" - please ask any questions that you may have, and we will respond back to you in timely manner.
