Vintage MCM Round Glass Globe Orb Ceiling Light Lamp Mid Century Modern 1960s Markstone

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage hanging glove light fixture that was manufactured by Markstone Mfg. Co. of Chicago, IL. Circa '60s. Materials: Metal, Glass. Color: The glass shade is an opaque white color. The fixture still retains its original labels on the inside surface of the metal cover where the electrical socket resides. It's a great period fixture that is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

MEASUREMENTS: The round glass shade measures approx. 11" in diameter. There is an approx. 5" drop down from the ceiling plate.

CONDITION: Good vintage condition. The glass is free from chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. There are some faint superficial scratch marks here and there on the glass; they are mainly located around the round metal plate where it comes into contact with the opening of the glass shade. We have not attempted to clean the fixture in any manner as it is already pretty clean in its current state. The electrical wiring looks to be original to the fixture, and it is free from having any issues - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. Needs to be hardwired into position by an electrician. As with all vintage lighting, we always suggest having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use, just to be safe.
