ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a super cool vintage atomic era tripod floor lamp. Circa '50s. Materials: Iron, Metal, Ceramic. Colors: Black, Beige. The framework of the lamp is constructed of iron, and there is a beige ceramic cone insert that rests at the bottom; it encases the light socket. The ceramic insert is held onto the metal framework of the lamp by two metal clips (see photos). The lamp does not have an on/off switch - when it is plugged in, it is turned on, so it will be controlled by a wall switch that will turn it on/off. We are uncertain as to the maker of the lamp - there are no tags or labels present. Also, the top of the metal framework appears to be designed to fit a shallow dish or planter insert. In all of our years of collecting lamps, we've never come across this one before, so we're going out on a limb to say it is most likely somewhat rare.
MEASUREMENTS: This lamp stands approx. 36.75" tall. The top opening is approx. 12" in diameter. The beige ceramic cone that encases the light socket is approx. 9" tall x 4.5" in diameter at the top opening. The legs are all approx. 20" apart from each other.
CONDITION: Overall the lamp is in good condition. The metal is free from dents, dings, breaks, bends, repairs, etc. There is some scattered black paint loss to the metal which is consistent with age; it can easily be touched up or just left alone. The ceramic cone insert has a small shallow rim chip (see photos) and general glaze crazing which again, comes with age. It is structurally solid. It can probably be restored quite easily, but we didn't attempt to do anything with it as that is not our area of expertise. The electrical wiring is in good shape, and is free from having any issues - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. This floor lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always suggest having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use, just to be safe. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described" - if you have questions, please message us and we'll respond back to you.
PLEASE NOTE: This lamp DOES NOT come apart in any way other than the ceramic cone being able to detach from the base. The shipping is rather expensive due to the volume of the box needed to accommodate the lamp. Anything under will be refunded to the buyer.
