ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage atomic era tripod floor lamp that was designed by Gerald Thurston for Lightolier. Circa '50s / '60s. Materials: Metal. The lamp is quite simple in design. It features three tubular black metal legs that intersect towards the upper portion of the lamp. They are held in place by screws that attach them to the pierced white metal shades that enclose the light socket (see photos). The lamp features an on/off rotary knob switch on the underside of the socket. There are no labels, tags or signatures present. It's a great lamp that is suitable for all interior settings.
MEASUREMENTS: This lamp stands approx. 53" tall. The top pierced metal opening is approx. 7" in diameter. The socket is approx. 43.5" from the ground. The legs are all approx. 14" apart from each other.
CONDITION: Overall the lamp is in good condition. The white metal mesh shows color loss in spots, but can easily be touched up. There's no rust or oxidation present. The lamp is free from dents, dings, breaks, repairs, etc. Just some general surface wear as can be expected from age and prior use - nothing all that bad, in our opinion (see photos). The electrical wiring is in good shape, and is free from having any issues - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. This floor lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always suggest having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use, just to be safe. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described" - if you have questions, please message us and we'll respond back to you.
