Vintage KOVACS Adjustable Chrome Metal Floor Lamp Modern Lighting 1970s Bankers

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage adjustable chrome metal bankers floor lamp by KOVACS. Circa '70s. Materials: Metal, Chrome. The lamp features a metal shade that extends outward from an adjustable vertical upright rod. There is a circular washer affixed to the vertical rod that is designed to hold the lamp at varied heights (see photo). The height of the shade and extension arm can be set at various levels. The shade itself is also adjustable and is attached at a pivoting point - it can rotate 360 degrees, as well as up and down. The lamp features a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket. The lamp still retains its original UL / Kovacs label on the underside of the base (see photos). It's a great lamp that is suitable for all interior settings.

MEASUREMENTS: In its fully extended position, the lamp stands approx. 49" tall x 14.5" wide. The vertical rod can be lowered to a minimum of 36.5" high. The chrome metal shade extends approx. 7" from the vertical rod (this does not include the actual dimensions of the shade itself). The shade measures approx. 8" wide x 4.5" deep x 2.5" tall. The rectangular base at the bottom of the lamp measures approx. 9.25" wide x6" deep.

CONDITION: Good condition, but does have some superficial wear. First off, the rectangular base has faint surface scratch marks throughout (see photos). We have not attempted to clean or polish the lamp in any manner, but it would probably be beneficial to do so. The base also has a few dots of something that got onto it - not sure what it is. At first we thought it was wax, but it looks like some drips of an adhesive upon closer inspection. Again, we didn't attempt to remove them, so we don't know if they'll actually come off. The base also shows some minor dings, but nothing objectionable, in our opinion. Moving up to the shade, it appears to be in very good shape - just some minor wear that comes with age. The electrical wiring is in good shape, and is free from having any issues - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. This floor lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always suggest having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use, just to be safe.
