Vintage MCM Chrome Adjustable Eyeball Orb Floor Lamp Mid Century Modern Sonneman Style Space Age 60s

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage space age telescoping / adjustable tripod floor lamp. Circa '60s. Materials: Chrome. Color: Silver. This unique floor lamp has the ability to have its height adjusted, as well as the shade. The shade can rotate left to right at its attachment point, as well as up and down. The legs can fully collapse by releasing the tab that holds them in place, thus making the lamp extremely compact for storage or moving. There is a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located on the top of the shade. We are uncertain as to the manufacturer of the lamp, but is is very similar in style to the designs of Robert Sonneman. There are a few labels adhered to the inside of the shade, but the text on them appears to be long gone (see photo).

MEASUREMENTS: With the shade fully extended to its maximum height, the lamp can stand to a height of 53". When lowered to it minimum height, it stands at approx. 35" high. The round orb / eyeball shade is approx. 6" in diameter. Each of the three tripod legs stretches to about 18" apart from each other.

CONDITION: Very good condition - there are no dents, dings, breaks, repairs, rust, oxidation, etc. The chrome could benefit from a gentle cleaning, but it does display nicely in its current state. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it is free from having any issues - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. Everything is in working order as can be seen from the photos. As is the case with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use, just to be safe.
