Rare Vintage Chunky Acrylic Floor Lamp Sculptural Wood Base Mid Century mcm Lighting 60s NO FREE SHIPPING

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale the mother of all chunky acrylic lamps. Here we are offering a sculpted wood floor lamp with a hanging acrylic globe. Circa '60s. The wooden base is absolutely FANTASTIC! The acrylic globe has shades of orange and green. There is an on/off dial switch located just above the globe. The shade is held in place by a metal disc from the inside that threads directly onto the light socket (see photos). There is a brass disc just above the shade the covers the majority of the top of the shade. The shade has four (4) evenly spaced vent holes along the top surface which are designed to prevent the shade from getting too hot based on the wattage bulb being used to illuminate it from the inside. We are uncertain as to the designer or manufacturer - there are no labels or tags visibly present. This one is definitely NOT for the faint of heart, that's for sure. It's suitable for all interior settings.

MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands a towering 61" tall. It is approx. 17" wide (at its widest point between the two upright arms). The round wooden base is approx. 14" in diameter. The chunky acrylic ball measures approx. 13.5" round, and there is an 8.5" hanging drop.

CONDITION: The lamp is in good condition for its age. The sculptural wood components are free from chips, cracks, breaks, scratches, repairs, etc. The chunky acrylic ball shows some wear along the top surface (see photos), but nothing drastic. Our guess is it wear in that location most likely came from a previous owner putting on and removing the shade. The majority of this wear can be concealed by the brass disc that rests above the shade. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it is in nice shape - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As is the case with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use, just to be safe. Alternately, if you'd like to make arrangements to hire a mover to retrieve, package and deliver the lamp to you, you're more than welcome to do so at your expense, and we'll be more than happy to work with you in coordinating the logistics.
