Vintage MCM Green Orange Acrylic Ribbon Shades Floor Lamp Mid Century Modern Lighting 60s

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage acrylic ribbon floor lamp. Circa '60s. The shades are constructed of acrylic, and they have an overlapping ribbon-like appearance. One is green, while the other is orange. They hang at slightly staggered heights. The remainder of the lamp is brass and metal. There is an on/off push switch that is located directly on the top surface of the round base. The lamp only has one setting which allows both shades to light up at the same time, or they can both be turned off. We are uncertain as to the manufacturer of the lamp - there are no tags or labels that are visibly present.

MEASUREMENTS: With both shades attached, the lamp stands approx. 61.5" tall (from the ground to the top of the central cylinder) x 24" wide. Each of the shades measures approx. 8" round. The shades each extend approx. 7" to either side of the central cylinder, and there is an approx. 6" drop from their hanging point. They are set at slightly staggered heights, the upper shade being approx. 59" from its hanging point to the ground surface, and the lower shade being approx. 53" from its hanging point to the ground surface. The round metal base at the very bottom of the lamp is approx. 11" in diameter.

CONDITION: Overall the lamp is in very good condition for its age. The shades are in near perfect condition - there are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, melted / burned areas, etc. They display beautifully. The brass components of the lamp, including the brass disc that rests atop the center of the base, shows signs of faint discoloration / tarnishing (no rust or anything like that). The metal is free from dents, dings, breaks, repairs, etc. The electrical wiring appears to be original and is old. There are a few spots on the coating that goes over the wires themselves where there is some discoloration (see photos). The wires are not exposed or frayed; however, we'd strongly recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the wiring prior to long-term use. If we were to keep the lamp, we would most likely have it re-wired for safety. NOTE: The lamps is LARGE and FRAGILE. As such, it will ship in two separate parcels - one will contain the base, while the other will contain the shades. BOTH parcels will be fully insured for the final sale value of the item.
