Vintage MCM Virden Pendant Lamp Pink White Glass Mid Century Modern 60s Lighting AS-IS

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage glass pendant hanging light fixture manufactured by VIRDEN. Circa '60s. Materials: Glass. The fixture is comprised of two glass components - an inner opaque white cylinder, and an outer clear pink glass rounded globe with a white paint splatter applied to the exterior surface. The inner white cylinder increases its diameter slightly about 1/5 of the way down, which produces a small lip for the outer pink glass to rest in place on. The fixture still retains its original VIRDEN label on the inside of the brass ceiling canopy.

MEASUREMENTS: The entire fixture measures approx. 10.5" tall x 6.5" wide x 6.5" deep. The pink outer glass measures approx. 5.75" tall x 6.5" wide x 6.5" deep. The inner white glass cylinder measures approx. 10" tall x 3.75" in diameter (bottom).

CONDITION: Decent vintage condition, but does have a few flaws which we'll mention here. First off, there is an old stable crack in the pink glass. It's towards the top surface, so when the fixture is hanging in place, it isn't readily noticeable. It is also slightly masked by the white paint doodles that are applied to the surface of the pink glass. Again, the crack appears to be completely stable (there's nothing loose or moving when you run your fingers over the area). Next, there is a small chip on the upper neck of the pink glass (see photos). Again, it isn't readily seen unless you're looking for it, but it is there, and is being mentioned for accuracy. Aside from that, the fixture appears to be in nice shape - it could probably benefit from a gentle cleaning, but does display nicely in its current state. The wiring appears to be original and doesn't seem to have any notable issues - the fixture just needs to be hardwired into place. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use.
