Vintage MCM 1950s Abstract Figural Pottery Lamp Mid Century Modern Lighting

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare and quite incredible vintage pottery lamp that dates back to the 50s. The lamp is a brownish color, and it has recessed figural designs on both the back and front that are done in a different color from the rest of the base. This gives the lamp a very nice dimensional feel. The pottery is capped off at the top by a brass metal plate, and it rests on a brass metal rectangular base at the bottom (see photos). The lamp appears to be signed "Kabuso" towards the bottom edge on one of the sides - we're not sure if this is 100% accurate as it is a little difficult to read. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket. There is no shade present - it will be left up to the purchaser to provide their own shade. It's an absolutely stunning lamp that'll make a welcome addition to any interior setting.

MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands approx. 21" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the light socket) x 6.5" wide (measured at the base) x 5" deep. The pottery portion of the lamp is approx. 15.25" tall x 6" wide x 4" deep.

CONDITION: Excellent condition - no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The brass cap at the top portion of the lamp shows some light superficial scratches - we have not attempted to clean or polish the lamp in any manner. They should resolve themselves with a light buffing. Either way, they don't detract - we're solely mentioning them for accuracy. The electrical wiring appears to be in good shape - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. The lamp is in fully-function, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described".
