Vintage MCM LAUREL Lamp Brass Wood Mid Century Modern 60s Lighting Atomic Era

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage table lamp that was manufactured by the Laurel Lighting Company. Circa '60s. Materials: Brass, Wood, Cloth Shade. We believe the shade is original to the lamp. The on/off switch is located inside a small rounded wooden knob that is located towards the bottom of the lamp (see photos). The lamp functions with two standard sized lightbulbs. An original Laurel label is still attached to the outside of one of the socket cups (see photo). It's a great lamp that is ready to be enjoyed, and it's suitable for all interior settings.

MEASUREMENTS: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 33" tall. The distance from the bottom of the round base to the light sockets is approx. 28" high. The shade measures approx. 7.5" tall x 18" in diameter. The round brass metal base at the bottom of the lamp measures approx. 7.25" in diameter.

CONDITION: Overall the lamp is in good condition with no major problems to report. The brass shows some age appropriate patina, as well as a little tarnishing in spots. We have not attempted to clean / polish the metal in any manner - it is being presented for sale exactly as it was acquired. The wood accent is free from chips, cracks, breaks, scratches, repairs, etc. It has not been polished. The rounded wooden knob that covers the on/off switch towards the bottom of the lamp has lost its grasp on the on/off switch located inside. It needs a little filler or something to give it some traction from the inside. It easily comes off, and you can turn the lamp on/off using the switch directly. The cloth shade shows light wear that is consistent with age - no tears, rips, holes, stains, etc. The electrical wiring appears to be original, and it is in good shape - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. The lamp is in working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always suggest having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use, just to be safe.
