Vintage 50s 3-Tier Fiberglass Lamp Shade Atomic Era Saturn Mid Century Mod As-Is #2

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an original vintage triple tiered fiberglass lamp shade. Circa '50s. The shape of this shade is rare in design - it is rather planetary in appearance - like a ring around a planet. The uppermost and lowermost tiers are a sort of tangerine color that is spotted in design. The middle, outermost tier is more of a beige color, and it has fibrous filaments running throughout it. The shade is unbranded - no idea who designed it.

MEASUREMENTS: The shade measures approx. 10" tall x 19" in diameter.

CONDITION: The shade is in decent condition, but certainly not perfect. First and foremost, the middle tier seems to have ripples / waves in the material. It is also a bit more stiff in feel than the upper and lower tiers (please examine photos). Not sure if this can be remedied without swapping out the fiberglass material altogether. In our honest opinion, it doesn't display all that bad, but we are mentioning it to be accurate. Next, while the shade appears to be structurally together, some of the lacing was replaced by a previous owner. The original lacing that is still there is coming undone in areas and it is brittle. Surprisingly enough, it's still holding together rather nicely. We'd say it's a good candidate for re-lacing. The fiberglass is free from rips, holes, tears, burn marks, repairs, etc. This shade is being sold "as-is", and "as-described" - if you have questions, please message us and we'll respond back to you.
