ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an amazing vintage table lamp designed by Yasha Heifetz. Circa '50s. Style: Abstract / Biomorphic. Materials: Blonde Wood, Copper, Fiberglass. The lamp has a large fiberglass shade that is a faint beige color with white fibrous filaments running throughout. There is a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket for functionality. The lamp does not appear to be signed, but it is definitely Heifetz
MEASUREMENTS: With the fiberglass shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 29.5" tall x 14" wide x 10.5" deep. The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 12.5" tall. The decorative portion (brass and wood, excluding the rectangular wooden base at the very bottom), measures approx. 16" wide x 6" tall x 4.5" deep. The fiberglass shade measures approx. 20" tall x 7.5" wide (top) x 5" deep (top) x 14" wide (bottom) x 10.25" deep (bottom). The finial attachment point is approx. 8" down from the top of the shade. The rectangular wooden base at the very bottom of the lamp measures approx. 9.5" wide x 4.5" deep x 2" tall.
CONDITION: Overall the lamp is in very good condition. The copper components shows a small amount of light tarnishing at the edge, but nothing that's objectionable. It is free from dings, dings, rust, oxidation, repairs, etc. The wood components are in great shape as well - no chips, cracks, breaks, scratches, repairs, etc. It could probably benefit from a gentle cleaning / polishing, but does display quite nicely as it is in its current state. We have not attempted to clean the lamp in any manner - it is being presented for sale in the condition in which it was acquired. The fiberglass shade has some slight discoloration on the back side at the seam (see photo); it's not bad at all, and is solely being mentioned for accuracy. The fiberglass is free from holes, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. A little bit of the lacing has been lost, but it is still structurally together. The holes are intact, so if you wish to replace the lacing at some point, it's totally doable. Th electrical wiring is in nice shape - no frays, splits, exposed and/or brittle areas. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order, and displays nicely! As with all vintage lighting, we always suggest having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use, just to be safe. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described" - if you have questions, please message us and we'll respond back to you.
NOTE: Due to the overall size and fragile nature of this lamp, it will ship in two separate parcels - one will contain the fiberglass shade, and the other will contain the base.
