Vintage MCM Textured Glass Wood Tension Lamp Mid Century Modern Lighting 50s 60s

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a beautiful vintage floor to ceiling tension pole lamp. Circa '50s / '60s. Comes with its two original glass shades and pierced metal diffusers. The shades are a smokey gray color. The diffusers screw directly onto the threaded sockets, and they are responsible for holding the glass shades in place (see photos). The fixture has an on/off rotary switch on the central cylinder for functionality. We are uncertain as to the manufacturer / maker of this lamp - there are no labels or tags present. It's a great lamp that'll complement any interior setting.

MEASUREMENTS: With the glass shades attached, the fixture stands approx. 100" tall x 21" wide. We have it displayed on our ceiling with is 96" tall. The wood arms extend 7" from the central vertical cylinder. Each shade has a 4" drop of chain and wire. The textured glass shades are 8" tall x 6.5" wide x 6.5" deep. The pierced metal diffusers surround each socket are approx. 4.75" tall x 3" in diameter. The wooden extension arms are at slightly staggered heights - one is set at 58" high, while the other is set at 66" high.

CONDITION: The lamp is in very nice cosmetic condition, but it does need to be rewired. One socket works, while the other does not. Oddly enough, the socket that works also has a chip in the ceramic (see photos) - it still holds the lightbulb firmly in place, but we'd recommend having a new one put in, just to be safe. The wiring was cut at one point in time at the bottom of the tension pole where it exits the cylindrical column, so we just added a cord with electrical caps to check on the functionality (see photo). The glass shades are in great shape - no chips, cracks, breaks, scratches, repairs, etc. The pierced metal diffusers are also in very good shape - no dents, dings, breaks, repairs, rust, oxidation, etc. Displays nicely and is ready to be enjoyed in a new home. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use.
