Vintage MCM Stiffel Tension Pole Lamp Metal Atomic Era Mid Century Lighting 50s

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an incredible vintage atomic era floor to ceiling tension pole lamp that was manufactured by STIFFEL. Circa '50s. Materials: Metal. Colors: Black, Gold. The shades are fully adjustable at their attachment points. The lamp has its original Stiffel sticker label attached to the vertical metal bar (see photos). Each cone shade is capped off with a round wooden atomic ball. The fixture has three way functionality via a standard switch control: one twist lights up one shade, a second twist lights up the other two remaining shades independent of the first, and a third and final twist lights them all up at once. It's a great lamp that'll complement any interior setting.

MEASUREMENTS: With the shades directed in their downward position, the lamp stands approx. 105.25" tall (fully extended) x 14" wide. In the photos, it is shown at 96" tall (the height of our ceiling). The attachment points of each shade are staggered at heights of 44.5", 56" and 66.5" high (measured from the ground surface). The cone-shaped shades are approx. 9.5" tall (including the wooden ball finials). The wooden ball finials are each approx. 1.5" round.

CONDITION: The lamp is in very good condition. With the exception of a few small spots where there is paint loss (see photos), it appears to be in great shape. There are no dents, dings, breaks, repairs, rust, oxidation, etc. The wooden ball finial accents show some light wear, but nothing drastic that can't be cleaned up. The original diffusers that clip onto the openings of each of the shades are long gone, but the clips are still there and new diffusers can be purchased for this lamp. The electrical wiring appears to be original, with no problems / issues detected - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. Fully-functioning as can be seen from the photos. We have not attempted to clean the lamp in any manner - it is being presented for sale in the condition in which it was acquired. Displays nicely and is ready to be enjoyed in a new home. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use.
