ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a nice vintage table lamp with accompanying fiberglass shade. Circa '50s / '60s. We believe it to be either Majestic or Guggenheim, but there are no labels visibly present. There is some felt on the underside of the base, but we did not tinker with it or try to remove it to see if there was a label present underneath. Chances are there is, but we left it alone. The lamp is constructed of black lacquered wood with gold colored brass tubing. There is a wooden black crescent or comma-shaped accent piece on the lamp body, as well as a smaller one made of wood for the finial (see photos). The design of the fiberglass shade is of two stacked trapezoids that are attached together. The fiberglass material is an ivory color, and it is great if you want to use colored lightbulbs to give off a different type of illumination - we used a red bulb in the accompanying photos, and it looks fantastic! The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket for functionality. It's a sweet lamp, and it'll look great in just about any setting!
MEASUREMENTS: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 29.25" tall x 21.75" wide x 12.5" deep. The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 21.5" high. The fiberglass shade measures 9.5" tall x 12.5" deep (at its long end) x 6.5" deep (at its short end) x 21.75" wide. The base at the very bottom of the lamp measures approx. 9.25" wide x 4.5" deep. The crescent-shaped wooden accent piece just above the base measures approx. 7.5" tall, and the complementary crescent-shaped wooden finial measures approx. 3.5" tall.
CONDITION: Overall, the lamp is in nice condition. There are some small areas of paint loss to the base which can easily be touched up or just left along - they didn't bother us, so we left them alone. The fiberglass shade was pulverized when we got the lamp, so we had it professionally re-outfitted with new fiberglass panels (see photos). We used the original metal frame for the repair. The brass shows some color loss in areas (see photos). There is no rust, oxidation, dents, dings, etc. The electrical wiring appears to be original, and is in good shape - no frays, splits, exposed / brittle areas. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As is the case with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring inspected by a licensed professional prior to long-term use. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described" - if you have questions, please message us and we'll respond back to you.
