ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage chrome space age / sputnik table lamp. Circa '60s. Materials: Chrome, Metal. Color: Silver. The lamp has ten (10) radiating arms that stem from the space age chrome ball at the bottom of the lamp. They are set at slightly staggered heights (see photos). The lamp has a standard on/off knob switch located on the back side of the chrome base, and it allows for three-way functionality: one twist illuminates only the bottom sockets, a second twist only lights the top sockets, and a third twist lights them up all together at once. Research shows it's a Torino lamp, but we're not 100% certain as there are no labels.
NOTE: Light bulbs are NOT included. They are in place just to show that all of the sockets are functioning. We'd also recommend using slightly larger bulbs which are more suited to the lamp.
MEASUREMENTS: The lamp measures approx. 30" tall (without the bulbs in place) x 13.5" wide x 12.5" deep. Each of the arm extensions are set a variable heights - the lowest being at 20.25" high, and the tallest being at about 30" high. The socket cups each measure approx. 2.75" in diameter. The round base at the bottom of the lamp is approx. 11" in diameter. The space age chrome ball that the arms extend from measures approx. 6" round.
CONDITION: Good vintage condition - there are no dents, dings, breaks, repairs, rust, etc. The chrome is a little dull in spots, and there is some very faint tarnishing (mainly on the underside of the socket cups). The chrome will definitely benefit from a cleaning / polishing, but does display nicely in its current state. The round space age chrome ball at the bottom of the lamp has what looks like two very small ventilation holes in the metal; this does not appear to be damage - we believe the lamp was designed this way to allow the wiring in the lamp to breath and not get too hot (see photos). Aside from that, everything appears to be working as it should. The electrical wiring is in good shape with no issues to report - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having the wiring inspected by a licensed electrician prior to long-term use. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described". Please ask any questions that you may have prior to purchasing, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner.
