Vintage MCM Thurston Lightolier Tripod Floor Lamp Mid Century Modern Lighting 60s

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage tripod floor lamp that was designed by Gerald Thurston for Lightolier. Circa '50s / '60s. Materials: Brass, Wood, Metal, Plastic and a Cloth Shade. The lamp has three (3) ceramic sockets for regular sized lightbulbs. There is an on/off rotary knob switch located just below the sockets. There are no tags or labels present. It's a great lamp with a classic design that is suitable for all interior settings.

MEASUREMENTS: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 51" tall x 20" wide x 20" deep. Each of the three legs is approx. 12" apart from each other. The wooden dowel accents on each of the legs is approx. 10.5" long. The shade is approx. 7.5" tall x 19" in diameter (top) x 20" in diameter (bottom). The round metal reflector disc that attaches above the sockets is approx. 14" in diameter.

CONDITION: The lamp is in very good, all-original condition. The brass metal framework of the base is in great shape - no rust, oxidation, bends, breaks, repairs, etc. The wooden dowel accent pieces on the legs are also in great shape - no chips, cracks breaks, scratches, repairs, etc. The shade is in very nice shape with no issues to report. The round white plastic disc that is supposed to rest below the sockets is missing which isn't unusual - most of the time the end up scorched anyhow due to the excessive heat of bulbs being used. It doesn't affect anything, but it not being there is being mentioned for accuracy. Aside from that, everything appears to be working as it should. The electrical wiring is in good shape with no issues to report - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having the wiring inspected by a licensed electrician prior to long-term use. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described".
