ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a phenomenal plaster table lamp designed by Jo Wallis. Circa '60s / '70s. Materials: Plaster. This lamp is not chalkware as it is entirely too heavy. The lamp has a brutalist vibe to it, with overlapping burnt orange arcs as the central design of the base (see photos). The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch located at the socket. The base is signed (see photos). No shade present - it'll be left up to the purchaser to provide their own shade.
MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands approx. 36.5" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the harp) x 12" wide x 12" deep. The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 28" high. The rounded metal base at the very bottom of the lamp is approx. 6.5" in diameter. The lamp is very solid, weighing in at approx. 21.6 lbs.
CONDITION: The lamp is in good vintage condition. There are some old scattered touch-ups to the paint, mainly along some of the edges of the burnt orange arcs, but nothing that we'd deem objectionable - one really has to be looking for them in order to spot them. Aside from that, there are no chips, cracks, breaks, etc. The round metal base at the very bottom of the lamp has signs of color loss - it can easily be touched up or just left alone - we chose to leave it as it was acquired. The electrical wiring is in good shape with no issues to report - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having the wiring inspected by a licensed electrician prior to long-term use. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described". Please ask any questions that you may have prior to purchasing, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner.
