Vintage GONDOR MCM Geometric Shapes Ceramic Lamp Fiberglass Shade Mid Century -1

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare vintage ceramic lamp with an accompanying triple-tiered fiberglass shade. The lamp was designed by Gondor (Zanesville, OH) for Bradley Manufacturing Co. (Chicago, IL). Circa '50s. The base has an erratic linear geometric design applied to the front surface, and it is mixed with small solid gold colored circles throughout (see photos). The design is attributed to Angelo Testa. The shade is a beige fiberglass material with white criss-cross patterns applied to the exterior surface. The lamp operates with a standard pull chain switch which is located at the socket. The lamp is suitable for all interior settings.

MEASUREMENTS: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 25" tall x 20.25" wide x 9.25" deep. The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 15.25" high. The ceramic base alone measures approx. 10.25" tall x 12.5" wide x 5.25" deep. The triple tiered shade alone measures approx. 13" tall x 20.25" wide x 9.25" deep.

CONDITION: Overall the lamp is in very good condition for its age. The base is free from chips, cracks, scratches, breaks, repairs, etc. The fiberglass shade is in nice shape as well with only minimal traces of wear that are consistent with age and handling - no rips, holes, tears, stains, burn marks, etc. There is one small extra lacing hole that looks like it was missed when the shade was originally laced (see photo) - it does not affect anything, and is barely visible. It can also be turned to face the back side of the lamp. The lacing appears to be original, and it is intact. The electrical wiring is in good shape with no notable issues to report. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always encourage having the wiring inspected by a licensed professional prior to long-term use.
