ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an amazing atomic era starburst wall hanging clock. Circa '50s / '60s. Materials: Iron, Wood, Metal. Colors: Black, Cream, Gold and White. The clock hands are fabricated from thin metal. The hour markers are non-numeric atomic symbols (see photos), and the gold colored rays are carved into the cream colored wood for some dimensionality (again, see photos). The original clock motor was swapped out a some juncture for a battery operated mechanism. The current mechanism seems to be finicky, so we'd recommend updating it - a quick and inexpensive fix. No signatures, labels or tags present, and we're uncertain as to the maker. We've never run across another one of these, and our research as to who made it has left us chasing our tail.
MEASUREMENTS: The clock measures a total of 20" tall x 20" wide. The rectangular wood section of the clock is approx. 14.75" wide x 13" tall x 2-3/8" deep. The round white wooden face measures approx. 9" in diameter.
CONDITION: Given its age, we'd say its still in very good condition with no major issues to report. There is some superficial surface wear, but nothing that can't be cleaned up - we just left it alone. There are a few superficial scratch marks here and there, and a little color loss (see photos). The thin metal hands have slight bends, but they can easily be finessed back into shape. There are no breaks, cracks, repairs, etc. As we mentioned above, the clock is a little finicky with the battery mechanism, so we'd suggest replacing it. Being sold "as-is" and "as-described" - if you have questions, please ask them prior to purchasing, and we will respond back in a timely manner. All sales are final - no refunds or returns, unless an item is grossly misrepresented. Thanks for looking, and please be sure to see our other listings that are presently on eBay. Thank you!
