Vintage Adjustable Brass Metal EMERALITE Banker Lamp Base 8734 Lighting No Shade

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an original, adjustable vintage EMERALITE banker's lamp (model #8734). Materials: Brass, Metal. The lamp still retains its original shade clips, as well as its original metal tab label which reads (Pat. Aug 15, 1916, H.G. McFaddin & Co., New York, NY). The lamp has a standard pull chain on/off switch for functionality at the socket. The shade will have to be replaced as it is missing. The lamp is also marked on the underside of the weighted base (see photos).

MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands approx. 10" tall. x 8.5" wide x 7" deep. The square base at the bottom of the lamp is approx. 7" x 7". The lamp is solid, weighing in at approx. 7.4 pounds.

CONDITION: The lamp is in good, all-original vintage condition. The metal shows some patination consistent with age (see photos). There are no cracks, breaks, dents, rust, repairs, etc. It could use a cleaning / polishing - we felt it displayed well in its current state, so we left it alone. While the lamp works, the electrical wiring is old, and we'd suggest having it updated (see photos). As mentioned above, it needs a new glass shade as the original one is long gone. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the wiring prior to long-term use.
