ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare vintage MAJESTIC table lamp. Circa '50s. Materials: Brass, Wood, Fiberglass. The lamp is rather quite simple. It features an angled cylindrical shade in green with brass rods attached to it an angle on both sides, thus giving the illusion that the brass rods are piercing the shade (see photos). There are black filaments running throughout the shade material. There are two light sockets for standard sized bulbs. The lamp has a round wooden base, and there is a push button on/off switch located on the top surface. The lamp still retains what appears to be its original green felt on the underside of the base, which was used on most Majestic lamps. There is usually a paper label adhered to the base underneath the felt - there may or may not be one there - we did not attempt to remove the felt to investigate it. It's a great lamp that is suitable for all interior settings.
MEASUREMENTS: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 25" tall x 15.5" wide (measured from the brass extensions that are attached to the shade). The shade itself measures approx. 20.5" tall x 8" in diameter. The round wooden base at the bottom of the lamp measures approx. 8" in diameter.
CONDITION: Cosmetically, the lamp is in great shape. The exception of a small amount of black paint loss to the base, the lamp displays beautifully - there are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The fiberglass shade is free from rips, holes, tears, creases, burn marks, repairs, etc. The brass components show a gentle patina consistent with age. There is no rust or oxidation present. The electrical wiring is physically in nice condition, and it is most likely original to the lamp, but the lamp is not currently operational, and will need to be rewired. It's a quick, easy and inexpensive fix that we'll leave up to the buyer to handle. As with all vintage lighting, we always suggest having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use, just to be safe. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described" - if you have questions, please message us and we'll respond back to you.
