Vintage 1950s Desk Lamp Fiberglass Saucer Shade Mid Century Modern Atomic Era

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare vintage atomic era / mad men desk lamp. Circa '50s. Materials: Plastic, Metal, Fiberglass. Color: Beige. The lamp features a plastic-like cone which houses the light socket, a wooden base at the front, and a plastic tray for placing your writing implements on. There are also two other small recessed areas on either side of the on/off push button which can be used for some other small desk supplies. The lamp features a round beige fiberglass reflector shade at the very top. We are uncertain as to the maker - there are no tags or labels present.

MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands approx. 17" tall x 7" wide (base) x 9" deep (base). The round fiberglass reflector shade is approx. 14.5" in diameter. The plastic cone that hides the bulb is approx. 7.25" tall x 5" in diameter.

CONDITION: The lamp is in good vintage condition for its age. It could use a cleaning. There are a few stray blemish marks on the cone that conceals the light socket (see photos), and the wooden portion of the base shows some faint edge and surface wear (again, see photos). The fiberglass saucer is free from chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The electrical wiring is in good condition with no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. It has been tested, and it is in 100% working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always suggest having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use, just to be safe.
