Vintage MCM Biomorphic Abstract Chalkware Lamp Fiberglass Shade 50s Mid Century Modern DBW

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale an amazing vintage abstract / biomorphic table lamp with its original accompanying two tiered fiberglass shade. Circa '50s. Materials: Chalkware, Metal (Brass), and fiberglass. The lamp base is a mint green color which has very fine black and white scattered paint splatter running throughout it. The central brass cylindrical rod is designed to run through the chalkware (see photos). The lamp is inscribed with the following copyright on the side of the black base: © 1955 DBW. The fiberglass shade has two different tiers - the smaller upper tier is black, while the lower, larger tier is a mint green (matches the base) with scattered metallic filaments running throughout it (see photos). The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch for functionality. It's a great lamp with a lot of personality that is suitable for all interior settings.

MEASUREMENTS: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 32" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the finial) x 21.25" wide (shade width) x 11" deep (shade depth). The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 24" high. The double tiered fiberglass shade measures approx. 11" tall x 21.25" wide x 11" deep. The rectangular chalkware base at the bottom of the lamp measures approx. 11" wide x 6" deep x 1.25" tall. The green chalkware component to the base measures approx. 18.25" tall x 10.5" wide.

CONDITION: Overall the lamp is in very good condition. There is an imperfection that appears as a small crack to the fiberglass on one side of the shade (see attached photo). The chalkware is free from chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. - it's in very nice shape. The central brass rod running through the lamp shows some areas of scattered pitting and tarnishing, but nothing that'd we'd deem objectionable given the age of the lamp. Both the lamp and shade could benefit from a gentle cleaning which we'll leave up to the purchaser to handle. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it's in good shape - no frays, splits, exposed and/or brittle areas. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having the wiring inspected by a certified, licensed electrician prior to long-term use.

PLEASE NOTE: Due to the lamp and shade both being fragile, this item will ship in two separate parcels - one will contain just the base, while the other will contain just the shade. If you'd wish to save on shipping by picking the lamp up in person, we always welcome local pick-ups.
