Pair Vintage MCM Ceramic Metal Atomic Lamps Mid Century Modern Lighting 1950s

$595.00

Shipping to United States: $60.00

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a wonderful set of vintage atomic era table lamps. Circa '50s. Materials: Ceramic, Metal. Colors: Mauve, Gold and Off-White. Neither of the lamps appears to be signed. Each has a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket for functionality. There are no shades present - it'll be left up to the purchaser to provide their own.

MEASUREMENTS: Each lamp stands approx. 32" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the finial x 7" wide (measured at the base) x 7" deep (again, measured at the base). The round ceramic orb is approx. 6.5" round. The distance from the bottom of the base to the light sockets is approx. 25" high.

CONDITION: Overall both lamps are in good condition, but not perfect. The main issue is that there are oxidation spots on the metal components / accents (more-so on one lamp than the other - please view the attached photos). They should clean up with a some effort; we just chose to leave the lamps in the condition in which they were acquired. The ceramic portions on both lamps are in excellent condition - there are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. On one lamp, one of the lower metal accent pieces looks like it had fallen off at one point, and it was reattached via a spot weld (see photo) - it isn't terribly noticeable unless you are looking for it. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamps, and it's in good shape - no frays, splits, exposed and/or brittle areas. The lamps have been tested, and they are both in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having the wiring inspected by a licensed electrician prior to long-term use.
