ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage metal torchiere lamp designed by Gerald Thurston for Laurel Lighting Co. Circa '60s. Metals: Metal, Brass. The lamp has an on/off rotary knob switch located at the socket level (see photo). No labels or tags present.
MEASUREMENTS: Approx. 56.5" tall x 10" wide (base) x 10" deep (base).
CONDITION: Decent, but not perfect. First and foremost, the glass shade is missing and will have to be replaced. Next, the metal around the socket shows a dimple, and there are several superficial scratches. The dimple can most likely be worked out with a little patience, and the scratches may also be able to be remedied. We didn't attempt to do anything with it, and just figured we'd leave it to the purchaser to handle. Lastly, the wiring needs to be replaced. There is black electrical tape around the wiring where it emerges from the base (see photo). We have not plugged the lamp in for this reason, so it may or may not turn on with its current wiring - we'd definitely recommend replacing it.As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect before long-term use. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described". Please ask any questions that you may have prior to purchasing, and we will respond back to you in a timely manner.
