Vintage MCM Brass STARLITE Sconce Atomic Era Mid Century Modern Googie 50s Lighting

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a RARE vintage atomic era brass rear lit wall sconce with dual pierced brass metal shades. Circa '50s. Manufactured by STARLITE (Los Angeles, CA). Materials: Brass, Metal. Color: Gold. Finish: Metallic. The fixture features two large brass dome shades - each are pierced with even spaced tiny holes which allow light to shine out from the sockets which are on the opposite site - they create a very dramatic effect. The original STARLIGHT adhesive label is still affixed to the inside of one of the shades (see photo). This is a wonderful fixture that one really sees nowadays, and it is suitable for all interior settings.

MEASUREMENTS: Approx. 35" wide (distance measured between each of the two brass rods the stem from the central brass housing). The left brass rod measures approx. 26" long, while the right measures approx. 29" long. Each of the two brass dome shades measure approx. 10" in diameter x 4.5" deep. The brass wall plate measures approx. 6" in diameter, and the entire fixture is approx. 4.5" deep.

CONDITION: Very good condition. There are no dents, dings, breaks, repairs, etc. There is a small amount of residual paint on the edge of one of the dome shades (see photos), and a small splotch of paint on one of the extending brass rods (see photos). It should clean off with relative ease - we just left it alone as it never really bothered us. The brass wall plate shows some patination from age (again, see photos). We have not attempted to clean / polish the fixture in any manner - it is being presented for sale in the exact condition in which it was acquired. The fixture is in fully-functioning, working order - it just needs to be hardwired into place. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect before long-term use. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described".
