ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare vintage boomerang chalkware lamp with its three accompanying cylindrical fiberglass shades. Circa '50s. Colors: Beige, Black and Gold. The shades are set at slightly staggered heights from one another. There is an on/off rotary knob switch that is embedded into the chalkware base (see photos), and it provides for three-way functionality: one twist lights up the two outer sockets, a second twist lights up the middle socket independent of the outer sockets, and a third and final twist allows all three sockets to light up simultaneously. The lamp does not appear to be signed - we are uncertain of the maker. These lamps are becoming increasingly difficult to find, so here's your chance to get one that is in nice condition. It's suitable for all interior settings.
MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands an impressive 37.25" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the uppermost finial x 23" wide (width of the boomerang). The wedge-shaped base at the very bottom of the lamp measures approx. 11.5" wide x 5.25" deep x 3" tall (the tallest point of the base). The three cylindrical shades each measure approx. 16" tall x 6.5" in diameter. The sockets are staggered in height, with the lowest being approx. 18" high, the middle being 21" high, and the highest being 26" high. The finial are at graduated heights as well, the the lowest being 30" high, the middle being 34.5" high, and the highest being 37.25" high.
CONDITION: Overall, the lamp is in very good condition for its age. There is one very small old nick to the chalkware on the boomerang that a previous owner touched up, and a small fracture line stemming from it. It is 100% stable, and does not go through or wrap around the boomerang - it's isolated, and does not appear to be affecting anything (see last close-up photo). Aside from that, there are a few tiny flea bit flakes to the paint finish (see photos). There are no breaks, repairs, chunks missing, etc. It's been very well cared for. The three fiberglass shades are in great shape - no burns, rips, holes, tears, repairs, etc. The lacing appears to be original, and it is intact on all three shades. The electrical wiring appears to be original to both lamps, and it is in good shape - no frays, splits, exposed / brittle areas. The lamp is in working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the wiring prior to long-term use.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to the size and fragile nature of this lamp, it will ship in two separate parcels, hence the shipping rate - one will contain the shades and hardware, while the other will contain the base.
