Vintage MCM Majestic Lamp Fiberglass Shades 50s Mid Century Modern Lighting

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a cool vintage Majestic table lamp with accompanying fiberglass shades. Circa '50s. Materials: Black lacquered wood, brass, fiberglass. The cylindrical shades are beige ion color with random black and white arc designs throughout (see photos). The lamp has an on/off switch on the base, and it provides for three-way functionality - either of the two shades can be lit independently of the other, of they can both be lit at the same time, depending on your preference. There are no labels or tags visibly present, but the lamp still retains its original green felt on the underside of the base, so there may be a paper label under that - we didn't attempt to remove it to investigate.

MEASUREMENTS: The lamp stands approx. 23.75" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the uppermost shade) x 17" wide x 6" deep (measured at the base). Each of the shades measures approx. 13" tall x 5.5" in diameter. The black football-shaped black lacquered base measures approx. 13.75" wide x 6" deep.

CONDITION: Good vintage condition with light wear commensurate with age and handling / use. The black lacquered base shows minimal traces of wear along the edges, but nothing that we'd deem objectionable. The brass appears to be in good shape - no rust, dents, dings, breaks, repairs, etc. - just some light wear. We have not attempted to clean or polish the brass in any manner - it displays nicely in the condition in which the lamp was acquired. The fiberglass shades are in nice shape. There is one very small dark mark on the fiberglass of one of the shades (see photo) - it doesn't really detract at all, but we are mentioning it for accuracy. The lacing is intact, and appears to be original. The shades could probably benefit from a light cleaning, and we'll leave that up to the purchaser to decide on. The electrical wiring looks to be original, and there are no issues - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. The lamp is in working order. As is the case with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use.
