Vintage MCM Abstract Guitar Plaster Lamp Fiberglass Shade Mid Century Modern 50s

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare vintage abstract guitar plaster lamp with accompanying fiberglass shade. Circa '50s. Materials: Plaster, Metal, Fiberglass. Colors: Beige, Brown and Gold. The body of the lamp features an abstract designed guitar constructed from plaster, and it has metal accents which represent the strings, on both sides of the beige column (see photos). The fiberglass shade is beige in color, and it has random gold designs painted on the surface. There is a standard on/off rotary knob switch that is located at the socket for functionality. The lamp does not appear to be signed, and we are uncertain as to the maker.

MEASUREMENTS: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 31" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the finial) x 17" wide x 17" deep. The light socket is approx. 24.25" high. The chalkware guitar itself measures approx. 16.25" tall x 6.5" wide x 3" deep. The round base at the very bottom of the lamp measures approx. 6.75" in diameter. The fiberglass shades stands approx. 9" tall, with the top diameter being 15", and the bottom diameter being 17".

CONDITION: Good vintage condition. There are a few tiny flecks of paint missing, and a tiny bit of wear where the upper string attaches to the central neck (see photos) - none of these detract or affect the structural integrity of the lamp - it's solid! The base is free from cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The fiberglass shade shows light signs of surface wear - a somewhat faint wrinkle in the material which can be steamed out, and a few minor blemishes, but nothing drastic or that interferes with the display - there are no rips, holes, tears, repairs, burn marks, etc. The lacing is intact as well. The electrical wiring appears to be original and it doesn't appear to have any issues - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. The lamp is in 100% working order! As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed electrician inspect the wiring prior to long-term use.
