ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a rare and unusual chalkware lamp. Circa '50s. Materials: Chalkware. Colors: Multi-color. The lamp takes on a fantasy-like appearance, with faux mosaic designs inscribed into the chalkware (see photos). The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch. There is no shade present -it'll be left up to the purchaser to provide their own. The lamp does not appear to be signed; it does, however, remind us of lamps that were manufactured by Quartite Creative.
MEASUREMENTS: Approx. 28.5" tall (measured from the bottom of the base to the top of the light socket) x 9.5" wide (widest point) x 9.5" deep (deepest point). The round metal base at the very bottom of the lamp is approx. 7" in diameter.
CONDITION: Good vintage condition, but not 100% perfect - we'd rate it an 8.5 out of 10. There is an old repair that was done fairly well - it's on the edge of the second mushroom-cap from the bottom (see photos). There is a very small, shallow chip to the chalkware adjacent to it. It can be easily repaired - didn't bother us, so we left it alone. It's also on the underside, so unless someone is actually looking for it, it isn't readily visible. There is also a small area where there was an old shallow edge chip that was gone over with black paint. It, too, is barely visible, but it is there and is being mentioned for accuracy. Aside from that, there are just some small color blemishes here and there, but nothing major - most of which should come out with a gentle cleaning - we just chose to leave it in the condition in which it was acquired. The electric wiring, as well as the hardware, all appear to be original, and it's in good shape - no frays, splits, brittle or exposed wires, etc. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use. Being sold "as-is", and "as-described" - please ask any questions that you may have, and we will respond back to you in timely manner.
