ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage atomic era table lamp complete with its original accompanying double-tier fiberglass shade. Circa '50s. Colors: Pink, Black. The lamp is made up of a pink ceramic orb with is spotted in black. Just above the orb are some curved wire accents, and below it are wire accents forming the connection between the orb and the round brass base. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch for functionality located at the socket. The double-tiered fiberglass shade has a subtle pink / beige color, and it is spotted in black on the larger lower tier to match the spotting on the pink ceramic orb (see photos). We are uncertain as to the maker - there are no tags or labels present.
PLEASE NOTE: Please see our other listing for the matching lamp.
MEASUREMENTS: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 28.5" tall x 18" wide x 18" deep. The distance from the bottom of the round brass metal base to the light socket is approx. 20.5" high. The double tiered fiberglass shade measures approx. 8" tall, with the upper tier having a diameter of approx. 15", and the lower tier having a diameter of approx. 18". The round metal base at the bottom of the lamp is approx. 6.25" in diameter.
CONDITION: Good vintage condition with light wear commensurate with age and handling. The base is free from having any major issues - the ceramic orb is free from any chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The round brass metal base at the bottom of the lamp shows a few small tarnishing spots towards the back which are consistent with age - nothing major, but being mentioned for accuracy (see photos). The wire accents both above and below the ceramic orb show patination from age - we have not attempted to clean or polish the lamp in any manner - it is being presented for sale as it was acquired. The fiberglass shade is in good shape - no rips, holes, tear, burn marks, repairs, etc. The shade could definitely benefit from a cleaning which we'll leave up to the next owner to handle. The electrical wiring appears to be in good shape with no issues to report. All-in-all, it's a great lamp that displays well, and it's ready for use. It is in 100% fully-functioning, working order. As in the case with all vintage lighting, we always strongly recommend having the wiring inspected by a licensed electrician prior to long-term use.
NOTE: The harp will be safely removed from the base to help cut down on the cost of shipping.
