ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage atomic era tripod table lamp with hanging planter and ufo saucer fiberglass shade. Circa '50s. The lamp features a round hanging glass chalice planter which can be used to display faux plants. The beige fiberglass shade has two components - there is a cup-shaped portion that directly surrounds the socket, and a clip-on saucer-shaped portion which attaches directly to the light bulb. The lamp has a standard on/off rotary knob switch located by the socket for functionality. We are not entirely certain as to who manufactured the lamp - there are no labels, tags or signatures present. It's a great lamp that is suitable for all interior settings.
MEASUREMENTS: With the shade attached, the lamp stands approx. 25.5" tall (measured from the bottom of the round metal base to the top of the finial) x 10.5" wide (saucer shade) x 10.5" deep (saucer shade). The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 18.5" high. The hanging round glass chalice planter measures approx. 4" round, and it hangs with a drop of approx. 14". The round base at the very bottom of the lamp is approx. 7" in diameter, and the saucer shade measures approx. 10.5" in diameter.
CONDITION: Good vintage condition. The metal base shows signs of tarnishing and spotty discoloration - nothing drastic, and can easily be left alone or repainted, if desired - we just chose to leave it as it was acquired. The fiberglass shows some mild discoloration in spots from age, but again, nothing bad (see photos). The fiberglass is free from chips, cracks, breaks, burn marks, repairs, etc. The hanging glass chalice shows some paint loss - again, this can easily be touched up or just left alone - the glass is free from chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. The electrical wiring looks to be original, and it's in good condition - no splits, frays, exposed or brittle areas. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring inspected by a licensed professional prior to long-term use. The lamp is being sold "as-is", and "as-described" - please ask any questions that you may have, and we will respond back to you in timely manner.
