Vintage MCM Brass Metal Atomic Era Lamp Mid Century Modern Lighting 50s 60s

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a tall vintage atomic era table lamp. Circa '50s / '60s. The lamp consists of four (4) cylindrical brass tubes that go from the round metal base at the bottom all the way up to the black metal cup that surrounds the light socket. They are evening spaced, and are meant to cradle the cup in its position. Each of these brass cylinders culminates in a small round brass atomic ball (see photos). The lamp has a rotary switch at the socket, and a push button switch that is on the round metal base at the very bottom of the lamp. The lamp has a built-in harp with will accommodate a shade (probably a round metal disc-shaped / saucer-shaped shade) - one will have to be provided as the lamp presently doesn't have one in place. We are uncertain as to the maker of this lamp - there are no visible labels or tags present. It's a great piece of lighting that is suitable for all interior settings.

MEASUREMENTS: The lamp measures approx. 30" tall (measured from the bottom of the round metal base to the top of the finial). The round metal base at the very bottom of the lamp measures approx. 8" in diameter. The black metal cup that directly surrounds the light socket measures approx. 7" tall x 5" in diameter (measured across the top opening).

CONDITION: Good vintage condition. The brass shows some signs of patination from age. The black metal cup surrounding the light socket shows some mild wear to the paint (see photos), but nothing that we'd deem detracting given its age. The round metal base shows some scattered paint loss in spots, but nothing major - it can easily be touched up, or just left alone; we choose to leave it in the condition in which they were acquired. There are no dents, dings, breaks, repairs, etc. The electrical wiring looks to be original, and it's in good condition - no splits, frays, exposed or brittle areas. The lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting, we always recommend having the wiring inspected by a licensed professional prior to long-term use.
