Vintage MCM Fish Koi Chalkware Lamps Fiberglass Shades Mid Century Modern 50s Retro

ITEM: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a very well preserved pair of all-original, vintage chalkware atomic era fish (koi) lamps, complete with their original oval-shaped double-tiered fiberglass shades. Circa '50s. Colors: Brown, Beige, White. The bases each feature three light sockets - one main socket, and two smaller sockets off to the sides. The fiberglass shades are double-tiered, and beige in color. The lower, larger tiers have a reeded material applied to the surface of the fiberglass, and there is a cloth chenille trim applied to the perimeter (see photos). Both lamps also feature six (6) glass amber balls as accents just above the fish (again, see photos). The lamps have three-way functionality: one twist of the on/off knob switch embedded into the side of the base turns the main socket on; a second twist turns the two smaller decorative sockets on independent of the main socket; and a third twist allows all three sockets to illuminate at the same time. We are uncertain as to the maker - neither lamp appears to be signed.

MEASUREMENTS: With the shades attached, each lamp stands approx. 33.5" tall (measured from the bottom of the lamp base to the top of the finial) x 24" wide x 14.5" deep. The bases measure 17" wide x 13.5" tall x 6" deep. The shades measure 14" tall x 24" wide x 14.5" deep. The distance from the bottom of the base to the main socket is approx. 24" high. Each of the six (6) amber glass accent balls measures approx. 1" round.

CONDITION: Both lamps are in excellent condition with only a few minor cosmetic mentions. First off, there is color wear on the chalkware by the on/off switches. There are not chips - they are smooth to the touch - just a little color wear from use - the color can easily be matched up to make it go away. Next, the cloth trim along the upper edge of one of the shades is sagging a small amount due to loss of the adhesive that was used to position it. Again, a very simple fix - we just left it alone. Aside from that, the bases are free from chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. A few teeny tiny spots of color loss, but nothing objectionable. The shades are in wonderful shape - there are no rips, holes, tears, burn marks, stains, repairs, etc. The electrical wiring appears to be original to both lamps, and it is in very good shape - no frays, splits, exposed or brittle areas. The lamps are both in fully-functioning, working condition.
