Vintage VF Vanity Fair Industries Portable Phono Turntable Record Player Music

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a vintage VF (Vanity Fair) Industries Portable Phono Turntable / Record Player. Solid State Phonograph. Model #42. Color: Bright Orange. Materials: Plastic. Operates on 4 different speeds - 16rpm, 33rpm, 45rpm and 78rpm. Has an electric cord for plugging into a wall.

Measurements: With the lid on, approx. 4 " tall x 10.5" wide x 12" deep (from the handle to the back on the unit) .

Condition: Cosmetically in good vintage condition. There are some scratches and scuffs here and there. The tone arm has a deep scratch on it (see photos). While we are not audiophiles, we have plugged it in and tested it, and here's what we've come up with. The sound works fine for a vintage unit, but don't expect it to sound like a Technics 1200 new out of the box. In our opinion, the needle needs to be replaced. The cover comes on and off, but you have to use a little finesse when opening and closing the unit. It looks like a small part of the plastic hinges on the back may have broken off at one point in time. Still functions though.
