Vintage 60s 70s Textured Brutalist Ceramic Lamp Mid Century Modern Lighting

Sorry, this item has sold.

Item: For your consideration we are presenting for sale a neat vintage table lamp done in a brutalist style. Circa '60s / '70s. While it looks like metal, we believe the body of the lamp is actually ceramic, and it is mounted atop a round metal base at the very bottom. Colors: Black, Gray, Silver. The body of the lamp has a textured / waffled appearance (see photos). There is a standard rotary knob switch located at the socket which is used to turn the lamp on/off. No labels or signatures detected, so we're uncertain as to the manufacturer. No shade present - that'll be left up to the winning bidder to provide on their own. NOTE: Lightbulb not included.

Measurements: The lamp stands approx. 31." tall (measured from the bottom of the round metal base to the top of the finial attached to the harp). The distance from the bottom of the base to the light socket is approx. 25" high. The ceramic portion of the base measures approx. 20" tall x 8" wide x 8" deep. The diameter of round metal base, measured from the underside, measures approx. 6.5" in diameter.

Condition: The lamp is in structurally solid condition - there are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs, etc. It does look as though a previous owner attempted to repaint the round silver base at the bottom as there is also some silver paint on the electrical cord in areas (see photos). Doesn't particularly detract, but we are mentioning it for accuracy. As for the rest of the base, we are not sure what the original color may have been, or if it was repainted as well. Just below the light socket on the short stem above the lamp body there appears to be some color loss in areas, and some uneven coloration as well (see photos). In our opinion, if we were to keep the lamp, we'd probably repaint it, but that's a personal choice. Again, please refer to the photos accompanying the listing. The electrical wiring appears to be original to the lamp, and it is in good shape - there are no frays, splits, exposed or brittle wires. As can be seen from the photos, the lamp is in fully-functioning, working order. As with all vintage lighting and electronics, we always strongly urge having a licensed professional inspect the wiring prior to long-term use, just to be safe. Being sold "as-is", "as-described". If you have any questions pertaining to the item, please feel free to message us and we will respond back to you in a timely manner. Thanks for looking, and please be sure to see our other listings presently active on eBay!
